Karen comes with a degree in Chemistry and Business Administration from Mary Washington College, (now University of Mary Washington) and worked for the Navy as a chemist, where she became fluent in American Sign Language, before leaving the workforce to raise her family. Much of her time at home was spent homeschooling her four children.
In 2003, she became a licensed real estate agent. Before founding Castle Key Realty in Maryland, she was the top sales agent in the Bowie office of Long & Foster in 2009, and came in second in the Southern Maryland Region in sales. She also was a Centurion award-winner in 2005 with Century 21 H. T. Brown, the largest Century 21 company in Maryland, and was with them from 2003 - 2008, receiving multiple other awards. She has also been licensed in Virginia with Century 21 Battlefield since 2006, where she enjoys getting back to her "roots".
She is hard-working, and integrity is her highest value. The satisfaction of her clients is the focus of her business as she teaches and helps clients achieve their personal real estate goals. Over the course of a month, Karen works with an average of four individuals or families, helping them to:
- realize the greatest gain possible when selling their home;
- achieve their goal of acquiring a home on a tree- lined street (or whatever their criteria) to live and be a part of the community;
- reduce the amount of money they pay to the government each year so that they work an average of one month out of the year for Uncle Sam instead of five!
In other words, she teaches people how to buy or sell a home; she's her clients' cheerleader and instructor as they talk about the discipline necessary to prepare to buy or sell.
Karen loves her job! She works in a profession where she can live what she believes. She believes that in the often-complicated real estate world everyone should have the opportunity to have someone represent them that is experienced, will always tell the truth, is hardworking, friendly, and can help you objectively analyze your situation to act in the best interest of yourself or family.
So next time your friend, relative, or coworker needs the help of a real estate professional, think about how you would do them a disservice if they fell into the hands of someone who is less experienced, and without core values.
